Carlo Ancelotti, the famous Italian football coach, flew from Madrid, Spain to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Sunday night. After saying goodbye to his old team, Real Madrid, he landed at Galeão International Airport. From there, he went straight to the Hotel West Zone around 10 p.m. local time. This is where the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) officially introduced him as the new coach of the Brazil national team.

Brazilian media outlet Globo Sport shared that the CBF hired a video producer to properly cover Ancelotti’s big arrival and official introduction. It was a big event with more than 200 journalists from eight different countries given special permission to attend his first press conference. These countries included Brazil, Spain, Chile, Japan, Germany, the UAE, the U.S., and Italy. Over 500 journalists had applied, but only 200 got selected.

According to O Globo, another top media outlet, Ancelotti traveled on a very special jet the Bombardier Global 7500. This jet, built by Bombardier Aviation in Canada, is known as the largest and most luxurious business jet in the world. The CBF arranged and paid for this plane to bring Ancelotti and his family to Brazil.

This aircraft is extremely advanced. It first flew in 2016 and is worth around $75 million (about 914 crore Bangladeshi taka). It can fly more than 14,000 kilometers without stopping—like from New York to Hong Kong in one go. It also flies very fast, up to 1,142 km/h.

Inside, the jet has four special rooms or cabins. It normally carries 12–16 passengers but can carry up to 19. There is a master suite with two beds and two bathrooms, a kitchen, and seats that are designed to reduce the feeling of gravity. It’s a favorite of billionaires and celebrities—American star Kylie Jenner owns one and redesigned it to include a living room, bedroom, and private bathroom.

Focus on World Cup 2026

Ancelotti will begin training with the Brazil team on June 2. He will soon pick a final squad of 23 players from an initial list of 50. Brazil has two important matches coming up: against Ecuador on June 6 and Paraguay on June 11. These are part of the World Cup 2026 qualifying games.

Brazil currently stands in fourth place in the South American qualifying table with 21 points from 14 games. According to the new World Cup rules, the top six teams from South America will go straight to the tournament. The seventh team will still have a chance by playing in international playoffs.

A Big Role with Big Rewards

Ancelotti signed a contract with the Brazilian national team that lasts until the end of the 2026 World Cup. According to reports, he will earn about $700,000 (around 85 million taka) every month. That adds up to 102 million taka per year. He is one of the highest-paid national team coaches in the world.

Besides his salary, Ancelotti will also receive other benefits. The CBF will give him a luxury apartment in Rio de Janeiro and pay all the expenses. Since his family and friends will stay in Europe, the CBF will also provide him with a private jet to travel back and forth.

Carlo Ancelotti’s journey with Brazil has started in a grand way. Now all eyes will be on him to see if he can bring Brazil back to the top of world football.
