India and Pakistan will face off in the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup on October 5 in Colombo. Despite political tensions, the match will go ahead at a neutral venue, promising fans a thrilling and emotional cricket rivalry once again.
A Big Match Is Back On!

India and Pakistan are ready to face off again, but this time it’s in women’s cricket. After months of doubt and tension between the two countries, their upcoming match in the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup is now confirmed.
When and Where Will the Match Happen?

The high-voltage game between India and Pakistan will be held on October 5, 2025, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Even though India is the main host of the Women’s World Cup, all of Pakistan’s matches will be played in Sri Lanka. This decision follows an earlier agreement between both countries to not visit each other’s land during this tournament cycle.
The tournament starts on September 30 and ends with the final match on November 2. India will open the tournament by playing against Sri Lanka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Why Was There Doubt About This Match?
In December 2024, India and Pakistan agreed not to tour each other’s countries due to rising political tensions. Things became even more uncertain after violent attacks in May 2025, which led to suspensions of both the IPL and PSL. Many people in India demanded that their team should never play Pakistan again not even in neutral venues.
However, the Women’s World Cup format follows a round-robin system, which means each of the 8 teams must play every other team. That made the India-Pakistan match unavoidable. Thankfully, both cricket boards have now agreed to play the match as planned — just not on each other’s soil.
Who Else Is Playing in the Tournament?
Eight teams are taking part in the 13th Women’s ODI World Cup:
- India
- Pakistan
- Bangladesh
- Sri Lanka
- Australia
- England
- New Zealand
- South Africa
Australia are the defending champions, having won the last Women’s World Cup in 2022.
Bangladesh will also play Pakistan in Colombo on October 2, and they’ll face India on October 26 in Bengaluru.
Conclusion: Get Ready for the Big Clash
The India vs Pakistan match is one of the most exciting rivalries in cricket, and now fans can enjoy it again in the 2025 Women’s World Cup. Even though the match will happen in a neutral venue, the passion and excitement will be just as strong. Mark your calendars for October 5, because it’s going to be a big day for cricket!
