BKSP and Kishoreganj District have reached the final of the BRAC Bank Women’s Development Cup Hockey Tournament. The match will be held at Maulana Bhashani Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) at noon.
The two semi-finals of the tournament were held on Friday. In the first semi-final, Kishoreganj defeated Jessore District by 2-1 goals. In the next semi-final, BKSP defeated Rajshahi by 12-0 goals. The two teams that lost in the semi-final will play the third-place match tomorrow.
Like men’s hockey, Bangladesh women’s hockey is mainly dependent on BKSP. Almost all of the national women’s team are students of BKSP. As a result, BKSP’s dominance in the women’s hockey tournament is natural.
The Hockey Federation’s ad hoc committee is organizing the women’s hockey tournament as well as the senior national men’s team camp. The team is preparing for the AHF Cup, the qualifying tournament for the Mimora Asian Cup Hockey, at the Maulana Bhashani Stadium under coach Mamunur Rashid.
