Bumrah Comeback Alert: Jasprit Bumrah is all set to make his much-awaited return to competitive cricket after a long injury break. The star Indian pacer has joined the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad ahead of their IPL 2025 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, scheduled for Monday.

Bumrah Comeback Alert: Bumrah has been out of action since January this year after sustaining a lower back injury during the Sydney Test against Australia. The injury ruled him out of India’s crucial home Test series against England and the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy. He also missed the initial matches of the IPL 2025 season.
MI Head Coach Mahela Jayawardena confirmed on Sunday that Bumrah is now fit and available for selection. He arrived last night, he had his sessions with NCA, he’s been handed over to our physios. He’s bowling today, so all good.
Prior to joining Mumbai Indians, the 31-year-old was undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, where he gradually increased his bowling workload under expert supervision.
Bumrah’s return is a major boost not only for MI but also for Team India. After the IPL, India will tour England for a five-match Test series a marquee contest in which Bumrah will be expected to lead the pace attack.
The last time Bumrah played Test cricket, he was in sensational form, taking 32 wickets in five Tests at an incredible average of 13.06 during India’s tour of Australia. His sharp pace, control, and match-winning spells had a major impact in that series.
Now, with his return imminent, fans and experts alike will be keen to see whether Bumrah can quickly return to his best and make an impact in the ongoing IPL season and more importantly, stay fit for India’s upcoming overseas assignments.
