Manchester City have announced their squad for the Club World Cup, and surprisingly, Jack Grealish is not included. Fans were shocked by his absence as the team prepares for the big tournament. Why was he left out?
Grealish Missing from City’s World Cup Team

Manchester City have announced their squad for the upcoming Club World Cup, and one name is noticeably missing Jack Grealish. The £135 million English winger has been left out of Pep Guardiola’s 27-man squad, raising big questions about his future at the club.
Why Is Grealish Not Playing?

Rumours had already started about Grealish missing the tournament, and now it’s official. According to ESPN, several clubs are interested in signing him. These include Premier League teams like Everton and some foreign clubs. However, the talks are still in early stages.
Coach Pep Guardiola had hinted earlier, after City’s win over Fulham on the final Premier League matchday, that Grealish may need to leave Etihad Stadium if he wants regular first-team football.
Who Else Is Missing from the Squad?
It’s not just Grealish who was left out. Another big name, Kyle Walker, is also missing. The English defender has moved to AC Milan on loan until the end of the season, even though his contract with City runs until 2026.
Young midfielder James McArthur is also not in the squad because he is currently captaining England in the Under-21 European Championship and could not travel to the USA.
When and Where Is the Club World Cup?
This year’s Club World Cup will take place in the United States, starting from June 14. Manchester City will play their first match on June 18 against Wydad AC, a club from Morocco. The match will be held in Philadelphia.
