Brazil won the Pan Am AirBadminton Cup 2025 by defeating Venezuela in the team relay final held in Lima, Peru on Sunday.

This tournament also acted as the Pan American qualifier for the BWF AirBadminton World Cup, which will take place in the UAE from November 13 to 16. Since the Pan Am region had two spots available, both Brazil and Venezuela have qualified for the World Cup.

At the Pan Am tournament in Lima, Brazil won their group by beating Mexico 60-43 and Guatemala 60-31. Venezuela also topped their group with wins over Peru 60-35 and El Salvador 60-45. In the semi-finals, Brazil defeated El Salvador, while Venezuela overcame Mexico.

Brazil’s win continued their strong run over the past two years. They won the team relay and men’s triples in 2024, and both men’s and women’s triples in 2023.

“We’re very happy,” said Brazil’s Tamires Santos. “Last year, we won silver in the women’s triples, and our men’s team has been champions three times. We’re excited to be part of this new version of badminton and proud to qualify for the World Cup. Now, we’ll train harder and prepare well to do our best.”

“I’m really happy we qualified,” said Mariangel Garcia from Venezuela. “We worked hard for this and reached our goal. Thanks to everyone in Venezuela and all the fans who supported us online. Now, we’ll keep training to represent our country proudly in the UAE.”

El Salvador won the bronze medal by beating Mexico in the third-place match. Both teams have had success at this event—El Salvador won women’s triples gold in 2024, while Mexico took bronze in the same event.

“We enjoyed every match and worked well as a team,” said Javier Alas from El Salvador. “Supporting each other helped us a lot. We’re happy with the medal and will keep training to go for gold next time.”

The Pan Am Championships are one of four events that qualify teams for the AirBadminton World Cup. The Africa qualifier will be held from July 3–6, followed by the Asia Pacific Championships (August 8–10 in Malaysia), and the European Championships (September 5–7 in Azerbaijan).
