After winning all three matches in the ODI series, England have started the T20 series with another victory. They defeated West Indies by 21 runs in the first T20 match of the three-game series. The match took place at Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.

England captain Harry Brook won the toss and chose to bat first. England had a shaky start as Ben Duckett was out for just 1 run. But then, Jos Buttler and Jamie Smith took charge.

England finished their innings at 188 for 6 in 20 overs. Romario Shepherd was the best bowler for West Indies, taking 2 wickets.

Chasing 189 runs, West Indies couldn’t build any big partnerships. Their top scorer was Evin Lewis, who made 39 runs off 23 balls. Others like Roston Chase (24), Romario Shepherd (16), Jason Holder (16), and Andre Russell (15) tried, but none could stay long at the crease.

In the end, West Indies could only manage 167 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.
