Before Game 1 of the seven-game series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Luka Doncic prepared to face Rudy Gobert in the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs, sponsored by Google.
Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to the 2024 NBA Finals, and one of his biggest moments was hitting a game-winning three-pointer over the French center.
“Since I joined the league, I’ve enjoyed playing pick-and-roll,” said the Ljubljana native at a press conference on Thursday. “I like it when a center has to guard me.”
The next game will be in the Conference Quarterfinals of the Playoffs. The Lakers have home-court advantage because they finished third in the Western Conference this season. The series will begin at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday.
Luka Doncic said, “Winning the NBA title is our only goal, and we’re fully focused on it. I believe we have the right team. When everyone is focused, we’re tough to beat. Our team chemistry is strong, so I really think we have a good chance.”
After playing 50 games with the Mavericks, Luka Doncic is getting ready for his fifth playoff run. Since joining the famous Los Angeles team in a midseason trade led by coach JJ Redick, he’s been helping them build momentum for a championship push. In 28 games, he has averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game.
