MI New York’s Fresh Firepower: MI New York (MINY) has made key signings ahead of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025, adding Quinton de Kock and Azmatullah Omarzai to their roster. The experienced South African wicketkeeper-batsman returns to the MI franchise after four years, bringing his championship-winning experience from Mumbai Indians’ IPL triumphs in 2019 and 2020. Omarzai, Afghanistan’s rising star and recent ODI Player of the Year, strengthens MINY’s all-rounder department.

MI New York’s Fresh Firepower: Fresh Faces and Strategic Squad Overhaul

MI New York’s Fresh Firepower includes MINY’s revamped squad, which also features George Linde, who played a crucial role in MI Cape Town’s SA20 title victory. Naveen-ul-Haq has been brought in from Texas Super Kings to boost the team’s bowling attack. Alongside these new additions, MI has retained key players such as Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Trent Boult, and Rashid Khan. However, the team has released Tim David, Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, and Dewald Brevis after a disappointing last season.

To strengthen their domestic core, MINY has signed Agni Chopra, Tejinder Dhillon, Sharad Lumba, and Kunwarjeet Singh. These players bring valuable experience from the domestic circuit and are expected to play a crucial role in the team’s balance. The blend of international stars and homegrown talent positions MINY as a strong contender for the upcoming season.

MLC 2025 is set to begin on June 12, with matches hosted at California’s iconic Coliseum Stadium. The expansion to the West Coast highlights the league’s commitment to growing cricket’s popularity in the United States. With a refreshed squad and high expectations, MINY aims to make a strong statement in the upcoming season.
