Nepal came very close to a famous win in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League Two but lost to Scotland by just 2 runs in a nail-biting finish. Even after playing their best-ever ODI innings, they could not reach the target.
Just 7 Runs Needed in the Last Over
Nepal needed only 7 runs to win in the final over of the match. They had 2 wickets left and hopes were high. But Safyaan Sharif bowled an amazing last over for Scotland. He took the final two wickets and gave away just 4 runs. Nepal’s dream ended just 3 runs short. They were bowled out for 321 while chasing 324.
Nepal’s Highest-Ever ODI Score
Even though Association lost, they created history. Their 321-run total is now the highest team score for Nepal in One Day Internationals (ODIs). This was only the second time Nepal crossed the 300-run mark in ODI cricket. The team had recently surprised everyone by winning two games in a row. This could have been their third straight win.

The match was played at Fort Hill, where Scotland won the toss and chose to bat first. They made a big score of 323 runs in 50 overs, losing only 6 wickets.

- Charlie Tear, the opener, made 68 runs with 9 fours.

Nepal gave a tough fight in the chase.

- Arif Sheikh added 39
They stayed close to the target throughout the match and entered the final over needing just 7 runs with 2 wickets left. But Scotland’s Safyaan Sharif kept his cool and took the final two wickets.
